Junior Rookies is for children who are league age 6-7 and who have previous baseball experience.
In Junior Rookies, children receive additional instruction on the fundamentals of baseball – hitting, throwing, catching, running and fielding – with emphasis on playing positions in the field and good sportsmanship during game play. Each player bats in every game from a coach pitch, and games are generally 90 minutes long.
To play with Beacon Hill Little League, your child must reside or go to school in our catchment area.
Schedule
The regular season runs from early April to mid June.
Time commitment for Junior Rookies consists of one game on Saturday or Sunday mornings, and one weekday practice
Location
Practices and games are held at Pemberton Park, Hollywood Park, and at Brooke Street Park.
Cost
Regular Season – $200
Clothing
Players are given a t-shirt and hat to keep.
Equipment
Players need their own batting helmet and glove.
Parent Involvement
Please plan to help out with your child’s team as a coach, manager and/or volunteer. A clinic for coaches, managers, and on-field volunteers will be offered prior to and during the beginning of the season. All parents are expected to volunteer unless they have selected the opt-out fee at registration.
Friend Requests
We are pleased to consider friend requests on teams; however, this is limited to one friend request per player – and both registrants must input the same request (each other) and at the same level of programming. Priority is given to balancing our teams.
Our registration form provides a field for you to make your request.
All play happens within Beacon Hill, so rest assured that friends will have the opportunity to play and see each other with regularity!
Playing Up To Rookie Majors
All players must register according to their birthday. If you feel your player would be better suited playing in a higher level, please send me an email to registrar@beaconhillball.com including your player’s name, age, and your request. Decisions around playing up are multifactorial, including skill, safety, emotional maturity, roster space, etc. The decisions will be made by our coaches.
